SHAMELESS IN UNCLEANNESS
"Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate."
As indicated in the image included herein, the Nicolaitans were described as "shameless in uncleanness" in the Apostolic Constitutions. They are also described as "forsaking the true Christian doctrine" to live "in unrestrained indulgence". Additionally, in similar terms, they are described as "those who left the correct doctrine and had the habit of indifference as to what a man ate and as how he lived".
How often have you heard: "Once saved, always saved!", "The blood of Jesus covers me!", "ALL of my sins are covered - past present, future!"?
Those statements in and of themselves are not bad statements; however, when they are said to justify living shamelessly, to forsake the true Christian doctrine in order to live their lives without restraint - to indulge their flesh in everything that pleases them, then it is wrong and Jesus Christ hates those practices. In fact, he warns those who follow those practices: "Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. "
Please note that God's grace has never been and will never be a license to sin deliberately. God will not be mocked. Jesus Christ warns those who follow the Nicolaitans to repent and stop doing so in order to protect them from his judgment.
How many Israelites were saved from the ten plagues in Egypt? How many left Egypt and were saved when God parted the Red Sea? How many entered the Promised Land from those who were saved? My dear friends - only two (Joshua and Caleb) from the thousands who left Egypt entered the Promised land. That is less than 0.001 percent of the entire population that left Egypt and passed through the Red Sea.
What about the angels that rebelled against God? What about the angels who slept with women and had children with them? Were they forgiven? No, they were not. They and their demon await God's wrath. Let us all be mindful of this truth - God's grace and mercy will not be abused by anyone.
